EDUCATIONAL PROJECT
- EARLY STIMULATION
At Kimba preschools, the innate talent of children between 0 and 3 years old is encouraged so that they can learn with ease, bearing in mind their different sensory and cognitive periods. Different programs allow the child to fully organise his/her skills right from birth:
1.- Encyclopaedic bits of information
2.- Audio and visual stimulation
3.- Mobility program
4.- Mathematical skills
5.- Early reading program
6.- Sensory stimulation
A well-structured and sequenced Early Stimulation program is the food needed to ensure neuronal development in children from 0 to 6 years old. Giving them less means feeding them scraps. For the human brain for develop it needs a highly ambitious program. If not we risk losing necessary human skills, and many doors would be closed for children when they become adults.
- TRILINGUALISM (English, Basque and Spanish)
The best time to learn a language is between 0 and 6 years old. At these ages, children learn languages naturally because they do so while they are playing. At Kimba children are totally immersed in three languages: English, Basque and Spanish.
This is guaranteed by qualified staff who are properly trained and use the language for all of the educational or welfare services throughout the day.
Teaching various languages from an early age is the only proven method of learning them to the same level as a native child. As well as this, it allows the area of the brain used for hearing to be completely developed. This develops the entire auditory area and makes it easier to learn other languages in the future.
- FAMILY-SCHOOL RELATIONSHIP
The educational role of Kimba Preschools is considered to be a supplement, but not a replacement, for the parents’ duty, who are the main persons responsible for their children's education. Preschools are an extension of the parents' role. Therefore, Kimba Preschools encourage parents to cooperate closely by establishing a personal relationship with their children’s teachers. To this end, parents are given guidance through talks and conferences, family workshops and the parenting school.
- NEW TECHNOLOGIES
One of the aims of preschools is to improve intervention methods to guarantee success for more children each year. With this in mind, Kimba has developed software targeted at children and teachers in which information relating to the pupils and the schools' educational documentation is centralised. This program contributes to closer proximity with families. Parents will have their own password to access their child’s information (monthly activities plan, conferences, bank holidays, school library, etc.).
- STUDY AND INCORPORATION OF BREAKTHROUGHS IN EDUCATION
The schools continually study and research new methods and innovations in the field of education. Updates are constantly made, which are the result of analysing and adapting the aspects that are most in keeping with education needs in the present day.
- PROFESSIONAL TEAM
The importance of the number of experts in each classroom is vital in order to achieve the ideal welfare service and, of course, an excellent educational program. The schools have the right number of properly qualified staff. The team of experts is formed by qualified teachers and childhood education specialists. Outside the classroom, other management and assistance staff work at the school. Kimba makes sure that the teaching staff receive ongoing training and retraining.
SERVICES
- PSYCHOEDUCATIONAL ADVICE
Kimba's team of experts are in charge of assessing and monitoring each child's development in conjunction with Fundación Nuevas Claves Educativas. On an annual basis, psychoeducational information is provided on each child’s stage of development, as well as a series of guidelines for stimulation, whenever deemed necessary.
- FLEXIBLE TIMETABLE AND OPEN MOST DAYS OF THE YEAR (open all year)
Kimba preschools are aware of how difficult it is to balance ones working and family life, which is why they open long hours, from 7.30 am to 8 pm, and only close on bank holidays and weekends. The schools are open all year, August included.
Each family can adapt their working hours to the length of the children’s stay at the centre. Ideally, the child should stay for at least four hours in order to make the most of his/her time at the centre and to adapt to the classroom activities and pace, and for a maximum of 7 or 8 hours in order to receive personalised attention from his/her family.
- ONGOING CCTV SERVICE
Both Kimba centres use the latest security technology. Parents of children attending Kimba can find out which activities their children are carrying out or how they are getting on with other children from their home or work via the Internet. A permanent CCTV system records different scenes in the various classrooms during the school day. Parents have their own password to access the system.
- DINING HALL
A balanced diet is essential at a very young age. That is why Kimba preschools ensure that the meals provided are of a high quality and prepared well. A company is responsible for the catering service, with special menus for children with allergies and intolerances. On a monthly basis the menu is given to the parents so that they know what is planned for the next few weeks.
